Strengthening Trade Connections for Southeast Alberta
Strengthening Trade Connections for Southeast Alberta
The Southeast Alberta Chamber of Commerce and economic development officers met with the Ministry of Jobs, Economy, Trade and Innovation on February 24 to build stronger connections and expand support for local businesses pursuing trade and export opportunities.
The Ministry’s Trade Ecosystems division supports:
- Export promotion and trade capacity building
- Collaboration with provincial and federal trade partners
- Competitiveness for Alberta companies entering global markets
The Ministry’s goal for the meeting was to strengthen engagement outside Edmonton and Calgary. They emphasized support for Medicine Hat, Brooks and the Southeast region, including connections to our Regional Economic Development Services for Southeast Alberta and making sure businesses are connected to programs such as the Trade Accelerator Program and the Alberta Export Expansion Program.
