Silver Sage Ag Society Calf Fundraiser Seeks Community Support for Major Growth Vision

BROOKS, AB – The Silver Sage Ag Society is calling on livestock producers across Southeast Alberta to help build the future of western heritage, agriculture, and community events by donating a fall calf to its 2026 Calf Fundraiser. Donations will support significant multi-phase growth projects designed to enhance facilities, expand programming, and bring more events to the region.

The fundraiser offers producers an opportunity to invest directly in the future of the Silver Sage Ag Society while receiving valuable recognition and benefits. For every calf donated, contributors will receive two VIP tickets to the Newell Pro Rodeo, and all donations qualify for charitable tax receipts.

To support the initiative, livestock producers are encouraged to donate a fall calf by December 1, 2026. Donated calves will be wintered at Doerksen Feedlot before being marketed through Bow Slope Shipping Association, with the sale planned for the end of February 2027. Proceeds from the sale will directly support the Society's vision for future growth and community development.

"Every calf donated helps us create new opportunities for agriculture, western heritage, and community events in our region," said representatives of the Silver Sage Ag Society. "This fundraiser allows producers to contribute to a lasting legacy while helping us expand our capacity to serve Southeast Alberta."

A complimentary roast beef lunch will be provided in conjunction with the Bow Slope Shipping Association sale event.

The Silver Sage Ag Society continues to play a vital role in preserving western heritage while creating opportunities for recreation, education, and community connection throughout the Brooks region. Funds raised through the calf fundraiser will support projects that strengthen the organization's ability to host events and serve the growing needs of the community.
